Shabby Apple’s Amazing Super Soft T-Shirt

Check out the t-shirt and earrings I just got from Shabby Apple.

T-shirt: Shabby Apple

Earrings: Shabby Apple

Necklace: Homemade by an aunt

Shorts: LOFT Outlet (Only available in store)

Shoes: TOMS Ballet Flats (This style seems to be taking a vacation.

A few are left in the last chance section)

I have never had a t-shirt this soft. It feels like silk against my skin. This is the Chatham Tee from Shabby Apple. Basics are a very important piece of my wardrobe. I tend to be warm all the time (even during the winter) so I like to layer with cardigans or accessories. It is a nice summer day today so I opted for accessories.

My earrings are also a pick from Shabby Apple. They are called the Pompeii Earrings. I love the intricate design. It reminds me of little leaves that have dried up after fall.

I discovered Shabby Apple through the blogosphere. So many bloggers were talking about them so I had to see what the hype was about. Now that I’ve got some of their items I can completely understand why they are such a beloved company. When my items arrived they were packaged very carefully. The earrings came in this cute little bag with the logo stamped on. When I opened the bag I saw they were also protected in a box with the logo stamped on it. When a company packs their items with so much care I know that they are truly aiming to deliver the best products to their customers.

For all of my readers who have sewing skills or are DIYer’s you should know Shabby Apple also has a “Practically Perfect” section with their sale items. They sell items that may be missing a button or have some other small imperfection at a discounted price. I am totally willing to sew on a button if it means saving money on an item.

Have you bought anything from Shabby Apple? What are your favorite items?

Seafoam and Petals

I thought I would switch things up today with a “Dream Closet” outfit I created on Polyvore.

Sea Foam and Petals

MICHAEL Michael Kors printed shirt, $120 / Hudson Jeans bootcut jeans, $310 / Miss Sixty platform heels / Chloé tote handbag / Gold bangle / Janis By Janis Savitt clear crystal earrings / OPI nailpolish
In a dream world we would all have endless bank accounts and be able to buy all of the beautiful clothing we wanted. Alas, I certainly do not, so the outfits in my closet are formed on a budget. Don’t get me wrong, I am very fortunate, but I will have to start making a lot more money before you find a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes in my closet (Unless you’re reading and would like to give me a pair Mr. Louboutin!) 😉
I find myself being a huge fan of trends but never really trying them out in real life. The mint trend is a perfect example. Right now I don’t own any mint colored clothing. This polyvore set is my attempt at incorporating it without going overboard.
If I had this outfit it’d be perfect for transitioning in and out of summer. It has the summer color palette and the warmth of the jeans for slightly cooler weather.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! 🙂

Tribal Print

Hello fabulous readers!

This is one of my new outfits from my outlet and lake getaway with my mom.

Top: Banana Republic Outlet (not available online)

Shorts: LOFT Oulet (not available online)

Earrings: Lia Sophia

Flip Flops: Old Navy

So many of my clothes are solid colors. It’s not that I dislike prints, I really love a good attention-grabbing pattern. Sometimes I think I just gravitate to the solid colors because they are so easy to match.

This top was another excellent bargain from the Banana Republic Outlet. It was originally $34.99 marked down to $9.99. I especially love the knot detail on the back. It makes a simple cotton top look much fancier.

The shorts were from the LOFT Outlet also a sale item at only $14.99. I love the shorts because they are incredibly comfortable yet the black fabric makes them look chic.

I hope you all had an excellent weekend!!

Lazy Monday Outfit

Happy Monday readers! I thought I’d switch things up today with another Polyvore creation. (If you haven’t checked out yesterday’s post I’ve got 3 of my own outfits up!)

Lazy afternoon

Monsoon cotton shirt / 7 For All Mankind low rise jeans / Flat shoes, $55 / Michael Kors handbag / Banana Republic pearl jewelry / Chandelier earrings / Bobbi Brown Cosmetics eyeshadow, $75 / Essie nail polish

I threw this outfit together starting with the coral top. The color caught my eye and I love anything that is loose and flowy. I think outfits are much more flattering if they hang loosely on the body. For the bottoms I chose skinny jeans. I am totally hooked on my skinny jeans. In the summer they go perfectly with my TOMS or with my boots in the fall. The Michael Kors bag is my idea of handbag perfection. The simple design and beautiful tan color would go with so many outfits. The earrings play off of the color of the shirt along with the dark copper nail polish. The sandals and bracelet dress the outfit up to make it look a little less casual.

I hope you all are having a great start to the week! Enjoy the sunshine! Mindy

Azure Thing Dress from ModCloth

Happy Wednesday lovely readers!

I stumbled across ModCloth through a friend’s post on Facebook and I have been hooked ever since. Today I’m wearing my “Azure Thing Dress” from ModCloth.

Dress: ModCloth (sold out) similar

Tank top: Hollister (last season) similar

Shoes: TOMS

Earrings: Lia Sophia

Necklace: Icing (Last season)

This dress was on sale for only $12.99! The thing I love most about ModCloth is the abundance of modest options. I can not stand wearing a dress that is really short. I don’t feel confident in them. Not because I am self conscious about my legs or anything like that; it is because I feel like I am constantly worried the dress is riding up and showing off my underwear!

To make sure I am covered on top in my Azure Thing Dress I pair it with a lace trim tank top from Hollister. It gives me the coverage I need to feel comfortable and compliments the dress.

Have you shopped at ModCloth yet? Do you have a favorite piece from ModCloth? Do you feel the same way I do about super short dresses?

Enjoy your afternoon!

Office Chic

Good morning readers!

I love a good pencil skirt. They radiate power and yet at the same time, look very refined and professional.

Skirt: Express (last season) similar

Top: The Limited (last season) similar

Shoes: Jessica Simpson

Earrings: The Limited

Cardigan: The Limited (past season) similar

I got this pencil skirt from Express, literally off of the mannequin. It was the only pencil skirt left and it just happened to be in my size! The best part was, it was on sale for $20! I pair this skirt with many different things (you’ll see more in future posts). Today I picked a colorful tank top from The Limited. I like to pair something colorful with the pencil skirt so the look doesn’t become too uptight. A pop of color relaxes the look so I don’t feel like a librarian. The cardigan was a must for the summer transition from the heat outdoors to the cool AC indoors.

What is your favorite work outfit? Do you have an outfit or clothing item that you feel makes you more confident?

Have a great Tuesday!

Bright Blue Summer Sweater

Good morning my fashionable friends!

I am having so much fun going through my closet and finding outfits to share with you. It is making getting dressed in the morning an exciting event!

Bright Blue Ann Taylor 1

Bright Blue Ann Taylor 2

Sweater: Ann Taylor (A few sizes left in Fuchsia)

Shorts: Marshall’s (last season) Similar

Necklace: Forever 21

Earrings: Lia Sophia

Sandals: Nine West (last season) Similar

Today I pulled out one of my favorite summer sweaters. This is a light knit sweater from Ann Taylor which I got on sale. They were running a 40% off sale promotion when I bought it so it cost me around $12. Ann Taylor has excellent sales and their clothing is very high quality. I have just recently begun shopping at Ann Taylor however, I know many women who shop their and have pieces that have lasted for years and years.

I have a necklace from Forever 21 and earrings by Lia Sophia to accessorize. My Nine West leopard print sandals are back along with my shorts from Marshall’s last season. I am addicted to khaki shorts in the summer. I think it is because they coordinate just as easily as denim but they look a bit more dressy.

I hope that Monday is off to a good start for all of you!

Can you tell I like floral prints?

Good afternoon readers!

I spent this morning in the pool so I’m posting later than usual. Today I am wearing another floral print dress that I consider to be quite the bargain at $15. This one was purchased from Old Navy. There is something about floral prints that makes me feel cheery. I think it is the vibrant colors.

Old Navy Floral 1

Old Navy Floral 2

Dress: Old Navy

Belt: Came with another dress

Shoes: TOMS

Necklace: Gift from an aunt

Earrings: The Limited

I kept the accessories fairly simple with this adding only the belt and necklace. I felt like the print was so attention grabbing that it would have been overkill to pair too many accessories with it. The TOMS ballet flats are my favorite go-to shoes for busy days. They are incredibly comfortable and still look cute. The great thing about TOMS is that when you buy a pair they donate another pair to a child in need.

I hope you’re all finding ways to keep cool in this crazy heat! Thank you all for reading today!

My $6 Dress!

Hello Lovely Readers!

I love a bargain! This dress is one of my best deals! Last summer I was shopping at Kohl’s when I saw these bright blue and green hues popping out of the clearance rack. The dress was marked as a few sizes too big for me but I decided to try it on anyway; it looked like it would fit me well enough.

Mindy Kohl's Dress

Dress: Kohl’s (last season) similar

Shoes: Jessica Simpson

Pearls: Handmade gift from an aunt

Earrings: Lia Sophia

I was so excited when I tried it on and it was the perfect fit! The dress even came with the black belt to cinch it at the waist. I don’t remember the original price however, needless to say, the $6 price I paid was a complete bargain! In this previous post, Flouncy Floral, I shared another one of my bargain purchases at Kohl’s.

Are you a bargain shopper like I am? What was your best find? Where do you find the best bargains?

Thank you for reading today! 🙂

Coral Nautical Stripes

Yesterday was the busiest day for the blog so far! Thank you to all of you who continue to visit! I appreciate all of the comments you leave and all of the likes and follows I have received. You are all awesome! 🙂

Two of my favorite things right now are nautical stripes and knits. When I saw this top at Aerie I knew I needed it!

 Aerie Coral 1

Aerie Coral 2

Aerie Coral 3

Top: Aerie On clearance with an extra 30% off!

Jeans: American Eagle

Ballet Flats: Target (last season) Similar

Earrings: Lia Sophia (Purchase through a Lia Sophia salesperson)

Necklace: Gift from an aunt

Most nautical stripes are in navy or black so the coral color is a unique take on the nautical trend. This morning in New England it was on the cooler side. The thermometer read 72 degrees when I got up. So I decided to go with my skinny jeans. My ballet flats are from Target. I got them on sale last season. Flats are often my go-to shoe. I love wearing heels but I am often on the run so I save those for social events.

I’m hoping it warms up a bit so I can spend the afternoon in the pool. How will you be spending your Tuesday? Is it still super warm where you are?
